The 2017 Bob Cousy Award watch list was revealed on Monday, and a trio of Big East point guards found their way onto the list featuring some of the top players at the position in the country.
Maurice Watson Jr. of the Creighton Bluejays, Jalen Brunson of the Villanova Wildcats, and Edmond Sumner of the Xavier Musketeers were all nominated to the list, which holds 20 players in total. Watson, Brunson and Sumner are all coming off terrific years in their own right and are poised to do even better things in the 2016-17 campaign.
Other notable standouts on the list include Bronson Koenig (Wisconsin Badgers), Jalen Adams (UConn Huskies), Melo Trimble (Maryland Terrapins), Monte Morris (Iowa State Cyclones), Joel Berry (North Carolina Tar Heels), London Perrantes (Virginia) and Frank Mason (Kansas Jayhawks). In addition, top freshmen Lonzo Ball (UCLA Bruins), De’Aaron Fox (Kentucky Wildcats), Markelle Fultz (Washington Huskies), and Dennis Smith (NC State Wolfpack) are also on the list among several other talented players.
