Marquette vs. Providence halftime notes

At the end of the first half, Marquette leads Providence by a score of 30-24

Tonight is the first of two meetings between Marquette and Providence, here is what occurred in the first half.

Marquette

  • So far, Henry Ellenson has been the Golden Eagles go-to man. He has a leading 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting and five rebounds
  • Haanif Cheatham has been Marquette's best secondary scorer tonight with seven points.
  • Marquette has shot 52% from the field, 29% from three point range, and 100% from the foul line thanks in part to the foul shooting of Luke Fischer and Haanif Cheatham
  • Marquette has also been getting at the ball with nine steals on the game

Providence

  • Kris Dunn leads the Friars with 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting, and is 3-of-4 from the foul so far tonight.
  • Ben Bentil has been Providence's best secondary option so far with six points on the night, the rest of the Friars have been fairly quiet
  • Rodney Bullock leads with seven rebounds so far
  • As a team, the Friars so far have shot 31% from the field, 10% from three point range, and 75% from the foul line, thanks in part to Kris Dunn who has been Providence's only player to go to the foul line tonight
