The biggest variety of votes thus far in BECB Player of the Week history are in, and Xavier Musketeers sophomore Trevon Bluiett has come out on top.

The Indianapolis, Indiana native received five of the 16 votes tabulated by the BECB staff. In total, seven different players received votes this week, by far the most thus far in the award's short history.

The 6-foot-8, 208-pound sophomore excelled in Xavier's victories over DePaul and Marquette this past week scoring a combined 42 points including 24 against the Blue Demons last Tuesday. Bluiett chipped in 18 in the Musketeers' road victory over the Golden Eagles this past Saturday.

Finishing second in voting was Bluiett's teammate James Farr who picked up three votes from the staff. Villanova Wildcats wing Josh Hart, Creighton Bluejays wing Isaiah Zierden, and Seton Hall Pirates guard Khadeen Carrington were tied in third place with two votes apiece. And finally, Georgetown Hoyas guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera and Providence Friars guard and past recipient of the award Kris Dunn each had one vote.

For the second time in as many weeks, the award goes to a player who was not on the Providence Friars or Butler Bulldogs. Last week, Creighton Bluejays point guard Maurice Watson Jr. became the first non-Bulldog or Friar to win the award.
