After 20 minutes in New York, Georgetown is off to a commanding 45-28 lead over St. John's.
Here's a look at what went down for each team in the first half:
Georgetown
- The Hoyas got to the line early, going 8-of-8 from the line in the first seven minutes of the game.
- Georgetown shot the ball extremely well, going 15-of-29 from the field, including making 5 of 14 attempted three's.
- D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera and Reggie Cameron both lead the Hoyas with 13 points in the half.
- Overall the Hoyas offense is looking as good as it has all year, as they have consistently been able to get open shots against a lackluster St. John's defense.
St. John's
- St. John's struggled with turnovers as they have all year, handing over the ball to the Hoyas eight times.
- The Johnnies have not been able to find a rhythm on offense, as they were forced to take contested shots throughout the half.
- One bright spot for St. John's has been Amar Alibegovic's nine-point performance, as the Italian sophomore has shown off his impressive scoring touch.
