Former Butler center Andrew Smith dies at 25

Former Butler Bulldogs center Andrew Smith died Tuesday at the age of 25, following a two-year battle with cancer.

Smith's wife Samantha, tweeted the news Tuesday afternoon.

Andrew peacefully passed away in his sleep and in my arms as I told him I loved him this morning. Love you always, Smith.

Since Andrew, a standout on Butler's back-to-back national semifinal teams, was diagnosed, Samantha has chronicled his valiant fight on her blog, Kicking Cancer With The Smiths.
