Rick Brunson on Jalen: "My son always wanted to go to Villanova" - VU Hoops

Many thought that the charges & accusation that caused Temple to ultimately rescind the offer as the catalyst shifting the tide of Jalen's college decision from the school on North Broad to the Main Line. However, the elder Brunson told the Chicago Tribune that was never the case, "My son always wanted to go to Villanova. Nobody understands this. He never, ever wanted to go to Temple with me."

Peter Fallon commits to Villanova - VU Hoops

Yesterday, the Villanova Wildcats extended an offer to Millis High School (Mass.) offensive lineman Pete Fallon. This morning, Fallon accepted and verbally committed to Andy Talley's program. He is the seventh verbal for the 'Cats in the class of 2016.

Rising Marquette senior Pat Sanchez posted back-to-back rounds of even par 72 to finish in a tie for second place at the 114th Wisconsin State Amateur Championship at Erin Hills Golf Course. Sanchez was joined in the field by four other Marquette players who made the cut - Sanchez's final round partner and MU classmate, Zach Gaugert, finished in a tie for fifth place after entering the final round in the top spot. On the final hole, Sanchez had an opportunity to match Wisconsin sophomore Eddie Wadja at 5-over-par to force a playoff. On the par-5, 660-yard 18th hole, Sanchez hit his approach shot to 10 feet left of the hole, needing a birdie putt to tie for the lead - his birdie attempt slid right of the hole and he finished in five.
