The NCAA officially announced Monday afternoon that the proposed rule changes to college basketball were approved.
The news of the stamp of approval was announced via the NCAA March Madness Twitter account around 3 p.m. ET. Among the changes, a 30-second shot clock will be introduced with the hopes of accelerating the pace of the game, which has been a hot-button issue for the last few seasons.
Additionally, a reduction in timeouts will be instituted as well as the moving of the restricted-area arc to four feet from three feet.
