A finer detail of the Creighton Bluejays' 2015 nonconference schedule was disclosed on Sunday morning.
CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reports that the Jays will meet the Rutgers Scarlet Knights of the Big Ten Conference in the first round of the 2015 MGM Grand Event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The matchup is scheduled for November 23, 2015.
Rutgers joins the Indiana Hoosiers and Nebraska Cornhuskers as opponents from the Big Ten that Creighton will square off against in 2015. The Jays will take on the Hoosiers at venerable Assembly Hall in November as part of the inaugural Gavitt Games and the in-state rival Huskers on either December 5, 6, or 12 according to White & Blue Review.
The Scarlet Knights were a member of the Big East from 1995-2013 before going to the American Athletic Conference for the 2013-14 season and then became members of the Big Ten the season after.
This will mark the first time that Rutgers and Creighton have played each other in men's basketball since 1949-50 according to Sports-Reference.com.
