According to the folks at VU Hoops, the 2015 NIT Preseason Tip-Off will not be held inside its usual venue of Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.
Instead, the premiere preseason tourney will be held on the other end of the Brooklyn Bridge at the venerable Barclays Center, which has hosted its fair share of big-time events ever since its opening in October 2012.
The information, according to Mike J of VU Hoops, was disclosed via email:
In an email to Villanova Basketball supporters, the University confirmed that the 2015 NIT Season Tip-off event will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The 'Cats had success in the Brooklyn multi-purpose venue last season, winning the 2014 Legends Classic via a thrilling victory over the Michigan Wolverines over the Big Ten Conference.
