Big East recruiting roundup (June 16, 2015): Myriad of activity in 2017 class continues

Activity was abundant on Monday within the realm of recruiting, but Tuesday still saw some sporadic instances of contact between Big East staffs and recruits around the country. Here's what we gathered from the day.

Butler

Via Rivals, Wali Parks, Willie Jackson and Kamar Baldwin of Iowa, Ohio and Georgia are all Butler targets.

Jeff Borzello wrote an Insider article about Chris Holtmann's excellent start to the 2016 class.

The Bulldogs, among other teams, contacted North Central (Ind.) forward Kris Wilkes.

Jaren Jackson Jr., who was offered by Georgetown Monday and had a standing offer from BU, was contacted on Tuesday.

Creighton

The Jays offered a 2017 point guard from Texas.

Creighton inquired about Marquis Godwin as well as Charles Payton.

Georgetown

The Hoyas also contacted Jaren Jackson Jr. on Tuesday after offering him on Monday.

Marquette

The Golden Eagles are inquiring on a trio of recruits. Via Team Loaded, they've checked in on forward Aamir Simms and center Josh Carlton, and according to Ryan Silver, Jayce Johnson - a 2016 recruit - has recently picked up new interest from MU.

Providence

The Friars are inquiring about Maliek White, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Richmond, Virginia, according to Jack Herron. Additionally they, like Creighton, have sought interest in Marquis Godwin.

St. John's

Jeff Borzello reports that Class of 2017 guard David Beatty was contacted by the Red Storm among many other schools since the recruiting period opened.

Xavier

Kris WilkesMichael Speight, and Kel Stotts have all become targets for XU in the last two days.
