Big East recruiting roundup (June 15, 2015): The 2017 class gets some activity

It was an extremely busy day for the Class of 2017 as contact with coaches was allowed at the stroke of Midnight.

Gathering up everything that happened on this busy today was a bit of a task, but here's a compilation of the players who either were contacted, received scholarship offers or set up visits with Big East schools.

Butler

Via Evan Flood of Badgers247, the Butler Bulldogs contacted 2017 wing Kobe King.

Via Trinity Best, by way of Butler beat writer David Woods of the Indianapolis Star, the Bulldogs have expressed interest in 2017 center Ikey Obiagu.

Creighton

The Bluejays were able to help set up a visit with Class of 2017 point guard Jordan Poole of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, via Andrew Force

Per Future150.com, Kimani Lawrence was given an offer.

Justin Smith was reached out to by Creighton on Monday, per Corey Evans.

In addition to Smith, Creighton reached out to Isaiah Coleman of the Illinois Wolves.

Trae Young heard from Creighton, among many others, according to Devonte Brooks.

DePaul

The Blue Demons were very active on Monday.

Xavier TillmanIsh El-AminNathan ReuversJames Beck, and Christian Negron all heard from DePaul on Monday.

Meanwhile, per Alex Kline, they hosted a pair of guards in Markell Johnson and Jayvon Graves.

Cole Vohandorf is set to visit the university next week and was contacted today by the Blue Demons, per Andrew Force.

Markell Johnson, 2017 point guard, received an offer from DePaul.

Via Prep Hoops Michigan, James Beck, Jermaine Jackson Jr., Isaiah Livers, and Dylan Alderson were all contacted by DePaul.

Georgetown

The aforementioned Justin Smith (Mac Irvin Fire) was reached out to by Georgetown on Monday.

Scott Burgess reports Jeremiah Tilmon heard from Georgetown tonight, as did Blake Harris.

Jaren Jackson, who had received an offer from Butler previously, was offered by Georgetown today per Jeff Rabjohns.

Marquette

Much like Creighton, MU reached out to Jordan Poole of Milwaukee on Monday. This news comes to us via Corey Evans.

In addition, Xavier Tillman and Christian Negron both were contacted by the program today via Devonte Brooks and Scott Burgess.

Finally, McKinley Wright, a Class of 2017 guard, picked up interest from MU, among a field of programs, via Ryan James.

Via the official Twitter account for the Las Vegas Knicks AAU club, Marquette reached out to Class of 2017 shooting guard Greg Floyd Jr.

Providence

Via Andrew Force, Koby Thomas is being given strong interest by the Friars.

Additionally, highly touted 2017 recruit Hamidou Diallo was contacted by PC on Monday.

Justin Mazzulla of BABC, 2017 shooting guard Marquis GodwinJordan Cross and Matt Turner are all receiving contact and interest from the Friars as well, this according to Corey Evans and Devonte Brooks.

Corey Evans reports that Providence is among a handful of schools to reach out to big man Zach Kent.

Providence called 2017 prospect Jarrod Simmons on Monday.

Seton Hall

Matt Jessen-Howard of Rivals.com reported that SHU contacted the highly touted Hamidou Diallo, much like the aforementioned Providence Friars did.

St. John's

Like the Friars and Pirates, St. John's contacted Hamidou Diallo on Monday.

Eric Ayala was sought out by the program today via Devonte Brooks.

Brian Bowen was offered by the Johnnies on Monday. Also, Billy Preston of Dallas, Texas and Trevon Duval of Newark, New Jersey picked offers up as well. The Preston news came to us from Zach Braziller.

Villanova

The Wildcats were relatively quiet on Monday, as the only reported news was interest pushed to Dylan Henderson.

In addition, they contacted 2017 forward Myles Douglas of Baltimore, per Devonte Brooks.

Like Creighton and Georgetown, Villanova contacted Justin Smith (Mac Irvin Fire).

Xavier

Goanar Mar, via Ryan James, and Trace Young via Donald of Prep Hoops Kentucky were shown interest from the Musketeers.

Danny Lewis of Westlake, Georgia picked up an offer from XU on Monday as well according to Shun Williams of OTRHoopsReport.com.

Javon PickettJelani WilliamsCharles Payton were contacted on Monday by Xavier according to Scott Burgess and Goat Enterprises.

Quade Green, a four-star point guard in the 2017 class, picked up an offer on Monday, as did Kimani Lawrence and Darius Perry.

Additionally, via Devonte Brooks, they contacted 2017 forward Myles Douglas.

Jarrod Simmons received a phone call from the Xavier Musketeers.
