Throughout his time at Butler, Alex Barlow was regarded as a floor general.
Monday night, the Indianapolis Star's Gregg Doyel wrote that Barlow would be going to the NBA, but not as a player. Instead Barlow will be joining the coaching staff of the Boston Celtics.
Barlow's first day of work for the Celtics was Monday afternoon. Barlow's official title is "Video Assistant", which is broad and undefined, but also where coaches such as Erik Spolstera got their start.
The Celtics, of course, are coached by Barlow's coach from his first two seasons at Butler, Brad Stevens.
In Barlow's 116 games with Butler, the walk-on was very versatile, averaging 5.1 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 2.4. APG, and 1.6 SPG.
