Report: Johnathan Williams III picks Gonzaga over Georgetown and SMU

This former MIssouri Tiger is headed to the Pacific Northwest.

Joshua Lindsey-USA TODAY Sports

Johnathan Williams III is headed to Gonzaga University.

Williams, who announced his intentions to transfer on March 30, completed the two-month process on Saturday when he chose the Zags over the Georgetown Hoyas and SMU Mustangs, who were in the hunt for the Memphis native.

The initial report comes to us from ESPN 929.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pounder averaged 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in the 2014-15 season. He will now be under the direction of head coach Mark Few, who made the Elite Eight for the very first time last season. He's dealt with his fair share of transfers in the past -- recently the superb Kyle Wiltjer -- so this transition ought to be seamless.
