The now former Seton Hall Pirates point guard has decided on a new home, and it's a familiar one to Big East fans past and present.
Sterling Gibbs is going to The Land of Steady Habits. Yes, the Connecticut Huskies have successfully plucked Gibbs from South Orange, New Jersey and the former Texas Longhorn will don the jersey worn by many prodigious floor generals in the past. A la, Shabazz Napier, Kemba Walker, et al.
Several other schools were in the running for Gibbs' services, including The Ohio State University as well as Pitt, who once had his sibling Ashton on the team. Kevin Ollie evidently was able to haul the 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard from Scotch Plains, New Jersey into Storrs, as UConn now looks to be reloaded for an attempt at returning to the NCAA Tournament next season.
UPDATE (3:05 p.m. ET) : We've been here before, haven't we?
Scout.com's Evan Daniels reported earlier that Sterling Gibbs was headed to Storrs to join Kevin Ollie and the Huskies.
Then Gibbs decided to throw us this little curveball...
@EvanDaniels no I haven't committed anywhere
