Report: Sterling Gibbs transferring from Seton Hall

The All-Big East guard is fleeing South Orange for presumably greener pastures according to a report from Alex Kline.

Seton Hall Pirates point guard Sterling Gibbs is transferring from Seton Hall according to a report from Alex Kline.

The news broke on Tuesday afternoon that the Pirate guard, who arrived at The Hall after being at Texas for the 2011-12 season, is fleeing South Orange. He will be eligible immediately according to the report from Kline.

Last season, Gibbs averaged 16.3 points, 3.8 assists and a field goal percentage of 43.1 percent for The Hall, who missed the postseason after a raucous start to the season. Things ended sourly for Gibbs after being involved in an ugly incident with 2014-15 Co-Big East Player of the Year Ryan Arcidiacono.

Gibbs had previously pledged on March 11 that he would return to the program.

We wish the best of luck to Gibbs wherever his next pitstop may be.
