St. John's and Arizona State will be squaring off in a nonconference battle December 22 at the MGM Grand, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
Both teams feature new head coaches, as Arizona State hired Bobby Hurley to replace Herb Sendek, and St. John's hired Chris Mullin to replace Steve Lavin.
Although this is a "neutral-site game", it is interesting to point out that Tempe is 307 miles from Vegas, while Queens is 2,544 miles.
The MGM Grand is no stranger to hosting basketball games. It has hosted the Pac-12 Tournament since 2013, and hosts the MGM Grand Main Event every year the week of Thanksgiving.
