St. John's coaching rumors: Chris Mullin offered head coaching job, expected to accept per CBS Sports

Chris Mullin is expected to fill the vacancy left by Steve Lavin as the new St. John's Red Storm men's basketball coach.

That's the story out of New York City according to CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein. The former Red Storm legend will be leaving his current position as an adviser in the Sacramento Kings' front office.

Per Rothstein's story, both sides worked out final details of a contract on Sunday and the school is aiming to have a press conference on either Tuesday or Wednesday of this upcoming week.
