St. John's Red Storm forward Sir'Dominic Pointer and Seton Hall Pirates forward Angel Delgado have won the Big East Player and Rookie of the Week awards, the conference announced Monday.
Pointer has had a strong run down the stretch, helping vault the Red Storm into the NCAA Tournament discussion as the Johnnies are looking to make The Big Dance for what would only be the fourth time since the turn of the 21st century. The Motor City native averaged 21.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in St. John's two victories over Xavier and Georgetown including Pointer's 24-point outburst against the Hoyas.
Delgado, the conference leader in rebounds per game (10.8) once again nets another Rookie of the Week honor, his third of the season. The freshman forward from the Dominican Republic scored the Pirates' game-winning basket in their win over the Creighton Bluejays, their lone game of the week, and amassed 13 points and 11 rebounds, to boot.

Finally, in the realm of women's basketball, Seton Hall junior guard Tabatha Richardson-Smith and Marquette freshman guard Kenisha Bell were named the Big East Player and Freshman of the Week. Richardson-Smith collected an average of 24.5 points and 5.0 rebounds last week, helping the Pirates go 2-0 to end their regular season.
Bell, meanwhile, shined with 19 points, four assists and six rebounds against the DePaul Blue Demons on Sunday.
