Big East Bracketology Update (2/9): CBS, ESPN disagree on number of Big East teams

Jerry Palm likes St. John's more than Joe Lunardi this week, either way, the Big East is still projected to have over 50% of the league get in.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

It's Monday, and, as always, that means a fresh set of Bracketology from our friends at ESPN and CBS. Below are the breakdowns of where ESPN's Joe Lunardi and CBS's Jerry Palm have each of the seven Big East teams they both have projected in the NCAA tournament.

ESPN

2-Seed: Villanova

5-Seed: Butler

6-Seed: Providence, Georgetown

9-Seed: Xavier

11-Seed: Seton Hall

FIRST FOUR OUT: St. John's

CBS

2-Seed: Villanova

4-Seed: Butler

6-Seed: Providence

7-Seed: Georgetown

9-Seed: Xavier (ON THE BUBBLE), Seton Hall (ON THE BUBBLE)

11-Seed: St. John's (ON THE BUBBLE)

Uh-oh. There's a bit of a dispute as Palm thinks higher of St. John's than Lunardi. Let's see what the folks at BracketMatrix say. They say St. John's will be in also. One thing is for sure, the three teams that we see as being "on the bubble" need to play better from here on out. Especially St. John's and Seton Hall.
