St. John's vs. Xavier: Halftime Notes

After 20 minutes at Cintas Center, the Red Storm lead the Musketeers 40-33

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

St. John's

  • It's been a back and forth affair. St. John's is led in scoring by D'Angelo Harrison. He has 13 points on 4-9 shooting. He suffered an injury near the end of the first half, which appeared to be cramps.
  • Chris Obekpa checked in early in the game to try and help control Xavier's big men
  • Rysheed Jordan picked up two early fouls and was a bit of a non-factor.

Xavier

  • Matt Stainbrook has been a matchup nightmare for the undersized Red Storm. He has 10 points and five rebounds
  • Trevon Bluiett added eight points of his own
  • The Musketeers led for over 11 minutes of the first half, but went on cold stretches at two different points which contributed to the St. John's lead.
