Stakes

The most obvious impact comes in the Big East Standings.  A win by Villanova gives them a comfortable 2 game lead in the Big East Standings.  If Butler wins, they can pull even with Villanova in the Big East Standings.

Beyond the obvious, this game has huge implications.  If Villanova can escape with a win, they will have only one more road game against a likely tournament team (Xavier).  This would give the Wildcats a great shot at finishing the season 29-2, needing only 1 win to break the 30 win mark for the second time in Jay Wright's career.  I don't think we need to hash out the tournament seeding implications, but a win would also give Villanova a 5-1 record against RPI top 25 teams.

If Butler can win here, it will go a long way in showing critics that their neutral court win over North Carolina was not a fluke.  It will also give the Bulldogs two wins over RPI top 10 squads.  That will go a long way to convincing the Tournament Committee that Butler is worthy of a 4 or 5 seed which could put them in a good position to make a run at the second weekend of the Tournament.  The Bulldogs still have some tough games coming up, including road trips to potential tourney teams Xavier and Providence, so a win at Hinkle is all that much more important.

Measurements

Thanks to Gene Hackman, we can be sure that the free throw line will, in fact, be only 15 feet from the rim, and the rim will be the typical 10 feet from the floor. Thank God they changed the color of those seats.  Ouch.
