Villanova and Oklahoma have battled it out defensively in the first half in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Here is what you need to know at the end of the first half.
- Oklahoma senior Buddy Hield lit up the scoreboard with 14 points on 4-for-11 shooting. He is also 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. With that said, he did miss his last five field goal attempts.
- Phil Booth has led the way so far for the Wildcats with seven points, shooting 1-for-3 from the field and 5-5 from the free throw line.
- Villanova senior Daniel Ochefu has started to dominate the boards on both ends of the court. He has seven rebounds, six of which have come defensively.
- After making seven of their first 12 shots, Oklahoma has started to cool down with only two field goals in the final eight minutes. This may be in part to Villanova's success on the defensive end as the Sooners turned the ball over eight times. Oklahoma has led by as many as 12, but the Sooners missed 11 of their last 13 shots against the stifling Wildcat defense.
Here is to a great second half!
