After a thrilling week of action, the Big East Coast Bias Player of the Week award is staying in Friartown.
Sophomore forward Ben Bentil is the recipient of the second Big East Coast Bias Player of the Week award. After making a strong case for the award last week in the Wooden Legacy event, Bentil followed that up with a strong showing against both Hartford and Rhode Island in a 2-0 week for the Friars. Bentil averaged 22.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in both contests, and had a buzzer-beater tip-in to lift the Friars over their in-state rivals from Kingston.
Teammate Kris Dunn and Butler Bulldogs guard Kellen Dunham finished tied for second with two votes apiece. Dunn picked up a triple double against Hartford early in the week and was integral in Providence's victory over the Rhode Island Rams. Dunham, the recipient of the BIG EAST Player of the Week award, continued his torrid pace against the Cincinnati Bearcats and Indiana State Sycamores last week with 24 points against Cincy and 19 against the Sycamores.
Others receiving votes this week included Angel Delgado of Seton Hall, Bradley Hayes of Georgetown. An 'other' vote was tabulated as well, which will be revealed when made available.
