Xavier Musketeers freshman Edmond Sumner was transported to a local medical facility after taking a vicious fall in the early goings of Xavier's BIG EAST opener against the Villanova Wildcats.

Sumner's fall elicited a state of silence from the sellout crowd at The Pavilion as the freshman point guard had to be stretchered out of the venue.

As the game wore on, updates on Sumner's condition were provided and have steadily improved. Per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, Edmond is undergoing CAT scans at nearby Paoli Hospital and is moving all of his extremities.

Xavier coach Chris Mack tweeted an update on Sumner's condition.

We wish nothing but the best of luck to Sumner going forward and hope his condition continues to improve.
