Behind the play of Ben Bentil and Rodney Bullock, the Providence College Friars have jumped out to a 33-29 lead over the Rider Broncs at the end of the first half.
Bentil and Bullock have combined for 23 of the 33 points the Friars scored in the opening 20 minutes of action. Bentil has led the way, scoring 12 points whilst shooting 5-for-12 from the field. Bentil nearly got a double-double in the first half, falling just one rebound short of the mark. Assuming nothing catastrophic, Bentil will have his first double-double since scoring 18 and grabbing 12 boards against Illinois on November 18.
Rodney Bullock meanwhile has nine points with a 4-for-7 mark from the field. He's converted on 4-for-6 2-point field goal attempts, whilst grabbing six rebounds, and netting two blocks in 18 minutes of action.
Rider looked out of it at first, falling behind 13-0, but have since outscored the Friars 29-20 since that point in time. The play of Teddy Okereafor, Jimmy Taylor and Kahlil Thomas. The trio has scored 10, nine and eight points respectively. That's pretty impressive, but perhaps damning of the Rider offense as Zedric Sadler has the only other two points scored thus far.
Stay tuned for more in the second half!
