It hasn't been pretty for Georgetown in the first half against the UNC Asheville Bulldogs as they trail 41-39 at the break.
Big man Bradley Hayes has six points, four boards and three assists, as he leads all starters in those categories. But leading all scorers is freshman Kaleb Johnson. The freshman forward has nine points in the first half. His season-high was 14 points against Duke on November 22, so that will be something to watch going forward.
A big reason for UNC Asheville's success has been their 3-point shooting. The 'Dawgs are shooting a crisp 50.0 percent on 10 field goal attempts from the perimeter in the first half. Georgetown hasn't had much of an answer for what the Bulldogs have shelled out early here and adjustments will have to be made to avoid a repeat performance of what occurred on Tuesday vs. Monmouth.
The Hoyas will have to do better on their end too. They're just 2-for-11 from the 3-point line as UNC Asheville's stellar perimeter defense is flourishing on this Saturday afternoon.
Enjoy the second half.
