Monmouth vs. Georgetown halftime notes

The Hawks are as dangerous as advertised.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

~ Monmouth leads Georgetown 39-27 at the end of the first half in Washington D.C. The Hawks of the MAAC have been potent, capable and willing to take down the mighty Hoyas through the first 20 minutes and at hte pace they're at, they might just.

~ A balanced attack has helped Monmouth build their lead tonight in D.C. The starting lineup has combined for 26 of Monmouth's 39 points. Justin Robinson leads all starters with seven, Chris Brady has six, Micah Seaborn and Je'lon Hornbeak have five each and Deon Jones has three. Leading the way for the Hawks is Collin Stewart who has scored 11 off the bench.

~ Monmouth has shot 50.0 percent from the field, 60.0 percent from the 3-point line and 100 percent from the free throw line on seven attempts.

~ Georgetown meanwhile has struggled from all areas of the floor, shooting 30.0 percent from the perimeter and 32.0 percent from the field on 25 field goal attempts. They have made exactly 50.0 percent of their 16 free throw attempts meanwhile.

~ Leading the Hoyas in points is D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera with eight but it has been done with little efficiency. DSR is 2-for-7 from the field and 1-for-5 from the 3-point line.
