Syracuse vs. St. John's halftime notes

At the end of the first half, St. John's leads Syracuse by a score of 40-31.

St. John's has been in fine form so far today as they take on former Big East foe Syracuse.  Here is what took place in the first half.

St. John's

  • Federico Mussini has been one of the main cogs for St. John's so far today as he leads the Red Storm with nine points on 3-of-5 shooting so far today.
  • Amir Alibegovic and Yankuba Sima have been active underneath the rim today as both have seven points so far and have been excellent secondary scoring options for the Johnnies.  They both have been active on the rebounds as well with three apiece on the defensive end, and Alibegovic is leading the Red Storm overall with five on the day.
  • 30 percent of St. John's scoring has come from within the paint so far today.
  • Fouls have been fairly light for St. John's so far today with only seven fouls in total.

Syracuse

  • Michael Gbinije leads all players on the floor today with 14 points on the game.
  • Tyler Lydon has been the leading rebounder so far with six on the game.
  • Most of the Orange so far have been fairly quiet in shooting the ball and as a team have shot 10-for-30 so far today.
