How to watch SIU-Edwardsville vs. Butler on TV or online, plus three things to watch

The Bulldogs return to Hinkle after a successful trip to Puerto Rico.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Coming off a successful 2-1 trip to Puerto Rico, the Butler Bulldogs return home to face the Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Cougars Saturday afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

How to watch, listen, or stream

Game Time: 5 p.m. ET

TV: FOX Sports 2

Radio: 1070 The Fan (Butler)

Streaming: FOX Sports Go (where available)

3-Point Preview

1. Home Sweet Home

While a trip to Puerto Rico was certainly nice, Butler has to be happy to returning home. The Bulldogs haven't lost a nonconference game at Hinkle Fieldhouse since December 2011, when they fell to Xavier.

That's unlikely to change against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, a team currently ranked 326th of 351 teams in Ken Pomeroy's rankings.

The Cougars are also 310th in the country in adjusted defense. The fans at Hinkle Fieldhouse could be treated to another offensive explosion from the Bulldogs.

2. Kellen Dunham

The Butler guard had a couple of slow starts in Puerto Rico, but continued to shoot, and eventually his shot began to fall. 20 of his 23 points against Miami came in the second half, and he's hit a three-pointer in 21 straight games. The Bulldogs need his shot to start falling on a more consistent basis, though, as we head in to December, a month in which Butler plays Cincinnati and Purdue. This game could be a good start for Dunham.

3. Looking Ahead

As mentioned above, Butler plays Cincinnati and Purdue, two ranked teams, in December. The former will take place next Tuesday in Cincinnati. Both Butler and the Bearcats should be ranked heading into the game, so it's going to be a big deal both for the teams, and their conferences. Butler should look to use this game against the Cougars as a tune-up before heading into that matchup in the Queen City.
