St. John's vs. Chaminade: Halftime Notes

First half is in the books and at the end of the first, St. John's leads Chaminade by a score of 59 to 42

St. John's time in Maui has not been the best, but can still end on a high note with a win today over the Silverswords of Chaminade. At the end of the first half so far its been a fairly even match up. Here's what went down in the first.

St. John's

  • Federico Mussini once again has been stellar for the Johnnies so far, with a game leading 16 points and has been shooting 6-of-8 with the lion's share of his shots coming from beyond the three point line where he is 4-of-5.
  • His efforts have been matched by that of Christian Jones who has 12 points on the day and a team leading three assists and five rebounds.
  • As a team, the Red Storm so far have been shooting 20-of-29 from all areas of the floor, 7-of-10 from beyond the 3 point line, and a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.
  • Amir Alibegovic has been great off the bench today with seven points so far on the game.

Chaminade

  • James Harper leads all Silversword players with 11 points on the day, and has been playing on and off the bench.
  • Kevin Hu is the leading starting scorer. He has eight points for Chaminade.
  • As a team, the Silverswords have shot 15-of-28 from all areas of the floor, 7-of-15 from beyond the three point line, and 3-of-7 from the foul line
  • Despite St. John's holding a slight edge on boards, Chaminade have held their own with 11 rebounds as a team so far today.
