The Stakes

The Providence Friars welcome the Brown Bears to the Dunkin' Donuts Center for a crosstown rivalry game. The Friars will be looking to avenge a home loss at the Dunk from a season ago. Brown has 4 of the 5 starters back from that team that defeated Providence by 10 last December. Kris Dunn had an off game last time out against Illinois but it was Ben Bentil who picked up the scoring slack for Ed Cooley's bunch for the 1 point victory over the Illini. This is a pure bragging rights game as both teams occupy the same city. Cooley is just 2-2 in his career against Brown so I'm sure he would like to get back over .500 on Saturday night against Mike Martin's veteran crew that features two-time Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year Cedric Kuakumensah, as well as Steven Spieth, the brother of top PGA Tour player Jordan Spieth.
