The Stakes

DePaul will look to get their 86th season opening victory all time and their 10th in a row as well. The Blue Demons are 48-2 in their last 50 home openers per the DePaul Blue Demons' game notes, with their last loss coming 10 seasons ago against Bradley.

The Broncos have won two consecutive season openers but haven't fared well on the road at the start of the season. Per WMU Athletics, the last time that they won a true road game in the season opening contest was back on November 15, 1997 against the Michigan Wolverines. Western Michigan will look to erase that long losing streak on Saturday night in Chicago.

The all-time series between DePaul and Western Michigan favors the Blue Demons who hold a 21-8 advantage over the Broncos. This will be the first time they play against each other since the 1987-88 season.
