The Stakes

Well, it's very simple.

Both Georgetown and Radford are seeking their first wins of the season. The Hoyas have only lost two season openers under head coach John Thompson III in his tenure at Georgetown: the very first game of his coaching career against the Temple Owls, and a matchup with the Oregon Ducks in the 2013-14 season.

These two teams last met a year ago on December 13. The Hoyas defeated Radford rather handily after suffering a home loss to Kansas three days prior, scoring a 76-49 victory over the Highlanders.

Georgetown has taken both matchups between the two clubs since 2007. They will look to make it three on Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
