ESPN's Jeff Goodman projects the Big East standings

Goodman doesn't seem to be buying in to the hot starts of DePaul or Providence, and isn't worried about St. John's being 0-2.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN College Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman gave his projections (Insider article) for how the Big East will shape out come March. For those of you without ESPN Insider, here's what he has.

1. Villanova Wildcats

2. Georgetown Hoyas

3. Xavier Musketeers

4. St. John's Red Storm

5. Seton Hall Pirates

6. Providence Friars

7. Butler Bulldogs

8. Marquette Golden Eagles

9. Creighton Bluejays

10. DePaul Blue Demons

There's not many surprises here. I think St. John's is good enough to get to fourth, maybe, but I'm also not sure if they're better than Seton Hall or Providence.

Also, if you're feeling disrespected because your team is, say, 4-7, consider the following: ESPN's Joe Lunardi, in his most recent Bracketology, had the top seven teams on this list going to the NCAA Tournament.

Thoughts?
