Notable scoring lines and notes:

Isaiah Whitehead came off the bench and played his first minutes since December 21st. He had five points, but did pick up two fouls in his first appearance back from the stress fracture. Whitehead provided a spark with his vision and passing.

Angel Delgado had a big basket and the foul during a late stretch in the half that helped put The Hall on top. Delgado has eight points to lead the Pirates. Brandon Mobley has added seven points in the opening as well.

For Xavier, James Farr and Myles Davis each had six points, but Trevon Bluiett leads the Musketeers with 14 points in the first half.

Xavier trailed at the beginning of the first half, but went on a 17-1 run to take the lead. This was facilitated by early foul trouble from Seton Hall. The Pirates put Xavier in the bonus with just over 10 minutes left in the half. The Hall would answer with an 8-0 run orchestrated by the great hustle plays from Whitehead down the stretch.

Things did get testy between the two teams as players like Delgado, Jalen Reynolds, Desi Rodriguez and J.P. Macura all picked up technical fouls. Both teams will need cool down in the second half.

Xavier shot 53.6 percent in the first half as the Pirates started off strong from the field, but only shot 42.4 percent in the opening period. Seton Hall is out rebounding Xavier 19-16 in the half, which is a bit surprising with the big bodies of the Musketeers like Stainbrook. Both teams have struggled from deep as Xavier is shooting 1-9 from behind the arc and the Pirates are shooting 4-12 from deep.

Things getting good in Newark. Enjoy the second half everyone.
