Gamblin' Info
Georgetown is a 3.5 point favorite over Butler, via OddsShark.com.
The Hoyas are 6-8-2 ATS in 2014-15, while Butler is 11-6 ATS.
The Stakes
This is a very important game for Georgetown. Should they lose against Butler, this will be the second time that they lose to them, having already been defeated by them earlier this season in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament. This could prove to be a big resume-booster for the NCAA Tournament committee, as Georgetown is still on the hunt for one.
Butler is trying to avenge the two losses that Georgetown gave them last year. It has been tough to win the road in the Big East Conference but Butler has done it twice already this season against teams that were ranked at the time. This would give Butler a lot of confidence, because they will know that they can beat teams in their own building.
Inside the Numbers
Butler has been stout defensively this season, especially along the perimeter. They come into this game ranked 19th in 3-point defense, which is also good for second best in the conference behind the Seton Hall Pirates. They've been great at limiting offensive rebounds as well, with a DR% of 27.1 percent (33rd best in the nation).
Georgetown is one of the best teams on the offensive end, averaging 84.2 points per game, and it has been hard to defend this team when they are pushing the ball up court and getting out in transition. Georgetown is ranked among the top in pace per game as well.
