Creighton vs. Marquette halftime notes

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

  • Creighton has been miserable from the field despite only trailing by seven. At the half, the Bluejays are shooting 8-for-30 from the field and an abysmal 4-for-16 from the 3-point arc. With their 3-point rate at 53.33 percent thus far, the Jays are being hurt by this mark, but the bigger detriment has been their inefficiencies inside.
  • A balanced effort by Marquette is the reason they're in control so far. Matt Carlino and Derrick Wilson have combined for 14 points, four rebounds and four assists at the break. The duo is shooting exactly 50.0 percent on 10 field goal attempts.
  • CU could certainly get a lot more from their starters, as they've combined for just 13 points. Rick Kreklow leads all with five points scored.
  • Offensive rebounding has been a bit of an issue for both squads. Marquette's OR% stands at 17.6 percent, while Creighton's isn't much better, standing in at 21.7 percent.
Enjoy the second half!
