The Stakes
The Seton Hall Pirates are 8-0 at home and look to stay unbeaten against Butler on Tuesday. This is The Hall’s only game this week and the Pirates could possibly move up in the polls if they win. Last season, the Pirates were 1-2 against the Bulldogs, but that one win eliminated Butler from the Big East tournament and essentially ended their season.
Butler will be looking for revenge from that first round loss to the Pirates a year ago. The Bulldogs have one road win in the Big East and if they can win this one, the AP Poll could be calling their name next week.
Inside the Numbers
Seton Hall checks in at 30th on KenPom. They're 36th in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency and 52th in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency. The Pirates rank 84th in eFG%, 132nd in TO%, 39th in OR%, and 83th in FTRate. Finally, The Hall is ranked 76th in 3PT FG%, 126th in 2PT FG%, and 306th in FT%.
Butler received two votes in the AP Top-25 poll this week and is No. 29 on KenPom. The Bulldogs are 63rd in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency and 29th in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency. They are 129th in eFG%, 54th in TO%, 34th in OR%, and 95th in FTRate. Finally, they rank 124th in 3PT FG%, 150th in 2PT FG%, and 229th in FT%.
