Seton Hall vs. Creighton halftime notes

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

The No. 19 Seton Hall Pirates and Creighton Bluejays are both looking to rebound off of tough losses earlier this week. Here's what's happened in the first 20 minutes:

James Milliken has been the best Bluejay on the floor today. He has 10 points after the first half and has shot with some great efficiency as well. He helped push the Bluejays ahead late in the first half and has been divisive at the cup, where he's scored most of his points on the afternoon.

Will Artino has responded well to getting the nod to start. After one half of play, the senior big man has eight points, six rebounds and two turnovers. Five of those rebounds have come on the defensive side of the ball, as he's provided a boost for the Bluejays down low that they have needed.

Ricky Kreklow has six points at the half, but no other Jay has more than four points after the first 20 minutes.

The Hall, meanwhile, has been led by their star player Sterling Gibbs. Seton Hall's point guard has scored 13 points while shooting 60.0 percent from the 3-point line and has just one turnover through 18 minutes of action. No other Pirate is close to being in double digits, with Khadeen Carrington finishing the half second in scoring with five points.

Neither the Pirates nor the Bluejays are shooting with sparkling efficiency. After the first half, Seton Hall has a field goal percentage of 36.7 percent on 30 attempts, an eFG% of 45.0 percent and is scoring only a point per possession. Meanwhile, Creighton has posted a field goal percentage of 48.0 percent, an eFG% of 56.0 percent, and is scoring only 1.067 points per possession.

Both teams are doing a good job of taking care of the basketball. Seton Hall is leading in this category but not by much. The Pirates have a TO% of 16.7 percent, which hedges the Bluejays' 20.0 percent mark.

The Hall has posted an OR% of 35.0 percent, while the Jays have posted an OR% of 40.0 percent.

Enjoy the second half!
