Five-star Class of 2015 point guard Jalen Brunson, the No. 1 recruit in the state of Illinois, committed to Villanova University early Wednesday evening.

The Lincolnshire native, who currently attends Adlai Stevenson High School, joins four-star shooting guard Donte Divincenzo and three-star power forward Tim Delaney as the current crop of Class of 2015 recruits that head coach Jay Wright has hauled in thus far.

The acquisition of the talented point guard in Brunson certainly has a "rich get richer" feel to it as the Villanova Wildcats are already the prohibitive favorites to win the Big East Conference in the 2014 season.

Brunson reportedly very much enjoyed his visit to Villanova and after he cut the Michigan State Spartans from his list, it was down to the Cats and the Illinois Fighting Illini. Unfortunately for John Groce, a top-flight Illinois product has gone by the wayside as Brunson has decided to play basketball in the shadows of The City of Brotherly Love.

We'll have more to come on what Brunson brings to the table for Villanova, so stay tuned for updates here on Big East Coast Bias.
