Class of 2015 guard Malik Beasley of St. Francis (GA) announced his recent cut down to eight schools that he is interested in going to. The schools that survived the cut include St. John's, Virginia Commonwealth, Oregon, Florida State, Connecticut, Georgia, UCLA, and Wake Forest.
As of now, Beasley, who resides in Alpharetta, Georgia, is in New York for Big Strick Classic, which takes place on Saturday. There is a chance that he may visit St John's, according to a source. St. John's has been recruiting him for some time now, and Steve Lavin needs to connect on at least one of the high profile players in the class, as they have not been holding on up on their end of the bargain lately in the Big East Conference
Beasley is looking to commit on his birthday, October 8.
