The number of schools on Donovan Mitchell's list is down to 10, including four in the Big East. The high school guard will look to take some visits in August.

Donovan Mitchell announced via Twitter this morning that he has cut his list down to 10 schools:

Providence, Creighton, Florida State, Indiana, Georgetown, Villanova, Louisville, Kansas, Boston College and North Carolina all made the cut. Four of the 10 are Big East schools, and Mitchell told HoopIntel.com's Corey Evans that he will visit Villanova unofficially on August 4th. His only other scheduled visit at this point is an official visit to Louisville August 7th and 8th. Mitchell did tell Evans that he plans to take an official visit to Indiana and Florida State sometime during August.

Of the 10 schools on his list, no one has been pursuing Mitchell longer than Providence coach Ed Cooley. Providence offered him a scholarship in April 2012 and haven't missed a single AAU game of Mitchell's since then which includes when he was not playing because of injury last summer after breaking his wrist.

Mitchell probably blew up the most of any player in the Class of 2015 in the last 3 months. Scout.com's Evan Daniels recently wrote that "no player improved his stock in July more than Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy standout Donovan Mitchell." While cutting his list down to 10 probably makes this a little more clear for Mitchell, these 10 schools are still likely very unsure where they stand.

Mitchell told Corey Evans that he plans to cut his list of schools to 5 by the end of the month.
