Georgetown offers a pair of guards
The Georgetown Hoyas have offered Class of 2016 St. John's Cadets point guard Anthony Cowan according to Michael Bohlin of 247sports.
Cowan is a point guard that impressed many people in Las Vegas, Nevada during the third evaluation period. I have seen Cowan a few times, and the hype is real. He can get to the rim and is also a good passer. He can run an offense really well and has a good jump shot, too. He is really speedy at times and can get to anywhere on the floor. When watching Cowan, he does a lot of the basic things that a point guard should do. This year, he will be the leader for his high school team because they lost Tre Campbell, a Georgetown commit, but many people think he will be able to get the job done.
The Hoyas also offered Class of 2015 shooting guard Kenny Williams, who plays for Boo Williams AAU team.
Williams is a prospect that Georgetown has tracked through the spring and summer. He can stretch the floor and that is one thing that Georgetown likes about him. He is currently being recruited by assistant coach Kevin Sutton.
Williams does like Georgetown type of offense because it is something similar to what his high school team, so that is one thing that is in favor of the Hoyas. Williams did take a visit to the hilltop before the NBPA Top 100 Camp and from all reports, he really enjoyed the visit.
Marquette offered Bryant Crawford
The Marquette Golden Eagles have also extended an offer to Class of 2015 point guard Bryant Crawford, whose AAU career ended last weekend. It might be hard for Marquette for get in the run for Crawford, who plays at Gonzaga High School, because he might be making a decision sooner rather than later. I am not sure on how long they have been eying him, but the Golden Eagles already have an point guard in the class who already committed and that is Nick Noskowiak that is an in-state point guard from the area.
Crawford is wide open in his recruitment as of right now, but if Marquette continues to stay in contact with him and make a good pitch then they may have a chance. I would not make a prediction for them because they are just getting into the picture. Many people think that Crawford to Louisville is an lock and Georgetown is not sure if they will continue to go after him because they are pursing Class of 2015 guard Donovan Mitchell, who has an offer from the Hoyas.
Villanova will receive an visit from Donovan Mitchell
Donovan Mitchell, a class of 2015 point guard, has set up a few visits. According to Evan Daniels of scout.com, Mitchell will visit the Villanova Widcats on August 4 and the Louisville Cardinals on August 8.
Mitchell has been the name of the summer and many coaches have raved about him. They are going have some tough competition because the Providence Friars might be the team to beat.
