Seton Hall announces home-and-home series with Georgia

The Pirates will tussle with the Bulldogs in 2014 and 2015, so says CBS Sports.

The Big East and the Southeastern Conference made headway on Tuesday afternoon when two representatives of the conferences agreed to take part in a home-and-home series.

The Seton Hall Pirates and Georgia Bulldogs will take part in matchups in the non-conference portion of the 2014 and 2015 seasons, according to CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. According to the CBS College Basketball Insider, the Pirates and Bulldogs will clash in Athens this coming season, before heading up to Newark in 2015.

Interestingly enough, the two programs have never met on a basketball court, so there will be no sense of familiarity when these two teams tip off in Newark, N.J. this coming season.

Last season, neither The Hall nor the Dawgs made the NCAA Tournament but Georgia is coming off a year in which they finished in the top half of the Southeastern Conference standings. Seton Hall meanwhile sputtered to a record of .500, but provided a sense of dramatics in their memorable upset victory in the Big East quarterfinals over the Villanova Wildcats.
