Teams: Butler (12-16; 2-14) vs. DePaul (11-19; 3-14)
Day: Thursday, March 6 Time: 9:00 PM ET
Location: Allstate Arena, Rosemont, Illinois
TV: FS1
About Butler:
- Villanova defeated Butler at home on senior night by a large margin, which is Butler’s seventh loss in a row. The Bulldogs did not play well on any level, shooting 30% from the field and getting out rebound and just straight up out played. To add, two starters on the Bulldogs did not score any points in the first half and Butler as a team scored just twelve points. Butler’s star player, Kellen Dunham, had the most points in the game with twelve.
About DePaul:
- DePaul Blue Demons loss to St.John’s at Madison Square Garden, losing their eleventh game in their last twelve games. St.John’s led DePaul in the second half by 20 points at one point and remarkably enough, DePaul was able to inch back to within three points. Brandon Young led the force for the Blue Demons with 23 points, but his team was unable to come out victorious, a disappointing loss after a good win against Seton Hall and their first win in a long long time.
Two Keys to the Game:
-Butler’s shooting
Butler’s field goal percentage this season is not one of the best to begin with, but against Villanova they took it too a whole new level shooting 30% from the field. Butler really has to step up their shooting, too have a chance at victory against DePaul.
-DePaul’s heart of a competitor
DePaul might not have a spot in March Madness this season, but they have definitely been playing with the heart of a competitor in the last two games. A team that is 11-19 in the regular season and 3-14 in the Big East thus far, defeated Seton Hall and almost beat St.John’s. If DePaul can bring that same spirit against Butler they will have a good chance at defeating them.
Prediction: Butler 68, DePaul 64
