With their win in the Big East Tournament final, Providence all but locked up four NCAA Tournament bids for the Big East. On Sunday night, the Friars were rewarded with an 11 seed in the Big Dance and a chance to play North Carolina in the second round as part of the East Region.
The Xavier Musketeers, the third-best team in the conference for most of the season, snuck into the Tournament as a 12* seed. They'll play NC State in the "first round" of games in Dayton, Ohio before moving into the Midwest Region.
The Big East's top two programs, Villanova and Creighton, never had to worry about making the tournament and should be relatively satisfied with their seeding. 'Nova lost out on a chance at a top seed with their loss in the Big East Tournament and is seeded second in the East. A potential second round date with former conference foe Connecticut awaits. Despite losing in the conference finals, Creighton earned a three-seed in the West.

Georgetown and St. John's get a chance to play some more basketball as well. The Red Storm are one of the four one-seeds in the NIT. Georgetown joins them in the glorified losers' bracket and will play West Virginia in a 4/5 game.
