ESPN's popular documentary series has now tabbed its next feature film, and in a move that will make college basketball enthusiasts happy, it will prop the BIG EAST Conference front and center.
On Monday, ESPN announced that the next installment in its critically acclaimed "30 for 30" series will delve into the BIG EAST Conference. The film, entitled "Requiem for the Big East," delves into the rich history of the conference, starting right from the beginning and advancing through to its rise to becoming the best college basketball conference in America.
It will premiere on March 16, 2014 at 9 p.m. ET, following ESPN's Bracketology show on Selection Sunday.
The film is directed by Ezra Edelman, a Peabody Award-winning filmmaker whose work stretches from the critically acclaimed HBO documentary, Magic and Bird: A Courtship of Rivals, to Brooklyn Dodgers: Ghosts of Flatbush, which received an Emmy Award in 2008.
According to the press release by ESPN, Big East fans and the like will also be able to catch a show following the documentary entitled "Big East Extras." Per the release, it will be a "a special featuring bonus material such as extended highlights and interviews from the film." The show is set to air on ESPNU.
