The Creighton Bluejays are on the top of the Big East after two convincing wins against Villanova. With at least four other teams in the picture for NCAA Tournament at-large bids, however, the Big East Tournament bracket could go a long way towards deciding who's dancing and who gets sent to NIT purgatory.

A resurgent team just a week ago, Georgetown is now on track to lose its first round bye in New York. 7th place in the conference isn't going to cut it for the Hoyas, but a date with Butler would serve as a nice warmup for a must-win upset opportunity against Villanova in the quarterfinals.
St. John's has shot up through the ranks to #4 in the conference, losing just one of their past ten. If the season ended today, they would take on a Marquette team they've already handled once this year. Don't know yet whether Chris Obekpa will be back in time for the BET though.
Providence is still (barely) making SB Nation's bracket, but the Friars are now the 6th seed in the tournament. A Xavier/Providence Quarterfinal matchup could wind up being the best game of the first two nights. The Muskies are currently sitting pretty in third, but stumbles in upcoming matchups with Marquette and Creighton could make Xavier a scared bubble team the second week of March.
