Doug McDermott had 26 points leading the Creighton Bluejays over the Butler Bulldogs 68-63.
McDermott had the go-ahead three point shot in the game, coming up clutch like usual. But the senior forward from Creighton accomplished more than that last night.
The two-time All American moved into 15th place on the NCAA D1 all time scoring list with 2,824 points. McDermott has passed college basketball legends like David Robinson and is close to beating one of the greatest, Larry Bird.
McDermott is having a great career and will undoubtedly be drafted in the first round of the NBA draft come June. He is having a career year, averaging the second most points in the country and helping his team to the second best spot in the Big East.
McDermott is a favorite for the Wooden Award which is awarded every year to the best men’s and women’s college basketball player.
