South Dakota vs. Creighton: Halftime Notes

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

  • So, this Tre Burnette kid can ball. A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Burnette leads all scorers with 16 points after the first half of play. No other player on the Coyotes or the Bluejays has hit anywhere near double digits thus far in this game.
  • Neither team is shooting remarkably well. Despite Burnette's burst, both teams are shooting under 40 percent, with the Jays shooting 32.1 percent while the Coyotes are converting just 37.0 percent of their field goals. The plausible reason that the Coyotes are ahead could be their numbers from the perimeter as they are shooting 44.4 percent from the 3-point line.
  • Devin Brooks and Isaiah Zierden have a combined 10 points at the end of the first half. No other Bluejay has scored more than four points on the evening thus far.
  • Creighton is scoring 0.862 points per possession while the Coyotes are netting 0.933 points per possession.
Enjoy the second half!
